Workplace Adaptations

A phased return to work
This involves a gradual increase in work duties or hours, such as allowing the person to work part-time, introducing flexible working or considering job-sharing until they feel confident to work full-time.

Altered hours
This involves changing work times or total hours, perhaps by removing the need for overtime, keeping a more regular rota or allowing the person to start work later or finish earlier.

Amended duties
This involves changing the person’s work duties, such as re-allocating work tasks, helping the person to prioritise work, giving them more supervision or redesigning the job role slightly so that they feel more comfortable and confident.

Work adaptations
This involves changing aspects of the workplace, such as altering seating arrangements, providing headphones for quiet work or allowing the person to personalise their work area.
