Act – Review performance
Carrying out regular review of your health and safety policy will confirm whether your arrangements are still suitable or whether more needs to be done. If the arrangements are ineffective then you are putting people’s health and safety at risk.
Doing a review will enable you to see what has changed in the business that may have an impact on health and safety. Workplace changes could show that some of your control measures are redundant or reveal new risks that you hadn’t previously considered.
Reviewing also gives you the opportunity to celebrate your health and safety successes: many third parties now require partner organisations to report their health and safety performance publicly.
