After assessing the risks, you will then be in a position to decide on the necessary preventative and protective control measures.
These may only be small changes, or they may require more time and effort – your risk assessment will determine what is appropriate.
In order to implement the control measures, it’s a good idea to appoint a supervisor who can ensure that it is done correctly.
This person will be responsible for:
• Providing the right tools and equipment needed and ensuring that they are properly maintained.
• Training and instructing workers to ensure everyone is competent to carry out their work.
• Supervising the workplace to make sure that arrangements are being followed.
